Opulent Raglan Workshop (starts Jan 16)
Five 2-hour class; $50 + tax & supplies
Using a light worsted weight yarn and a lovely top down sweater, Kiko will teach you a number of techniques for making your sweaters fit YOU and your style. She’ll cover changing stitch patterns (she subbed in a lovely lace and texture design instead of the written cables) waist shaping, bust darts, neck line height, modifying edgings, adjusting body and sleeve length, and very importantly – how to knit your garment for the best looking finishing! We’ll be using a basic sweater pattern from The Best of Knitscene or Interweave Knitscene Fall 2008 issue which has basic and simple lines that are easy to adapt. You can take this top down sweater and make it into anything you want – a fitted tunic length sweater, a baggy everyday pullover, or knit it as it’s shown as a stylish shaped sweater with lovely knitting details.

Brioche Stitch Workshop (on Jan 27)
One 3-hour class; $25 + tax & supplies
Learn the basics of brioche using a clear and easy scarf pattern for Classic Elite’s beautiful, space-dyed superwash Liberty Wool. Brioche makes a beautiful two-sided, thick and “squishy” fabric, ideal for outerwear accessories like scarves and hats. The best part is that it only looks complicated!
You will need Classic Elite’s “Accents 2″ pattern booklet (“Technicolor Scarf, p 12), approx. 250 yards each of two colors of yarn (“Liberty Wool” recommended), and a Size 7 circular needle at least 29″ long — all conveniently available here at Knitting Etc.
